Situated on a slight rise in a low-lying landscape. It is not marked on any OS map but it is in a field known locally as the ‘Fort Field’. This is a large oval grass-covered area (dims c. 146m NW-SE; c. 129m NE-SW) defined by a grass-covered earthen bank (Wth c. 5m; H c. 1-1.5m) SSW-W-N that melds into the ground elsewhere. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 5 September 2018
