Located towards the bottom of a NW-facing slope of the Hill of Lloyd. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40-45m) only the 1910 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described as a ‘Fort’ and as a hachured circular feature on the 1912 edition. It was described in 1968 (SMR file) as a low rise (ext. diam. 38m E-W; 37m N-S; max. H 0.35m at NW). There was no visible fosse or entrance, but it is probably a rath.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
