Situated in a hollow in a low-lying undulating landscape. It is not depicted on any OS map but is visible on aerial photographs (GSIAP: N 288, 289) and later series. This is a rectangular grass-covered area (dims 35m N-S; 35m E-W) defined by wide flat-bottomed moats (at S: Wth 10m) on every side except the N where the moat has been removed by an E-W field bank.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
