Situated on a fairly level but slightly undulating landscape with a SW-NE section of a stream c. 10m to the SE. This is a slightly raised grass-covered area (dims 28NNE-SSW; 24m WNW-ESE) with slightly raised corners defined by outer fosses or moats. There is a causeway across the N end of the moat at E. The visible profile had been removed by 1995 (OSAP) but it can be seen as a vegetation mark on Google Earth (07/05/2017; 16/05/2018) and OSAP (2017).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
