Item image
Situated at the bottom of a NW-facing slope of the Tara ridge, and attached to the NW of tower house (ME031-031001-). The house (int. dims 13.8m plus NW-SE; 6.5m NE-SW) only survives partially on the ground floor which has a barrel-vault. There are two blocked or destroyed windows in the longer NE wall and one in the SW wall (L 7.6m), but the NW wall and any evidence of an original entrance and garderobes is missing. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 6 July 2016
