The Augustinian priory of the Holy Trinity at Ballyboggan (ME046-018----) is within a field system consisting of rectangular fields (dims c. 100m x c. 50m) defined by low scarps or silted ditches (Wth c. 3-6m; D 0.3-1m). The field system covers an area of about 42 acres (c. 17 ha) and an old NE-SW stream bed meanders through it c. 150m NW of the priory.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
