Situated on a NE-facing slope. The discovery of human remains in the construction of a septic tank resulted in a two day salvage excavation (00E0163) by V. Buckley (excavations.ie 2000:0749). Although the core of the burial ground had been inadvertently removed excavation of the perimeter recovered the remains of at least 14 inhumations including adults, juveniles and infants. The presence of slab-lined graves indicates a date in the first millennium AD and the parish church of Kilmoon (ME038-006----), with possible early medieval references, is c. 300m to the W. The sewage works were diverted and the remaining burials are preserved in situ.
